Central Idea: Societal needs cause people to develop systems that dictate how they govern themselves.
Riley's Farm Reflection
At Riley's farm I learned that many people died to protect our country. We fought the most powerful country and one or our rights.
At Riley’s Farm I enjoyed being Mr. Chicken because It was interesting. I got to be charged and tried. I really liked when people said I stole stuff or didn’t. It was fun when the judge named out all the rules I and other people broke. The game we played was kind of weird because we didn’t get to experience it that much. Colton would whack the ball so no one could get it. They didn’t really explain if that’s good or bad. It was fun learning how to weave and why she didn’t buy stuff. The tax was really high so people made their own stuff. We learned about how flax is finer than wool and cotton. We learned that flax holds it together and wool and cotton makes it soft and warm. She explained to to make the wool and make it fine. She explained how to make it into yarn. We also got to weave a little. It was cool learning about all the silly names for stuff. Learning about tax was fun because we learned about why it was important and stuff like that. Tax is how roads and schools and everything is built. The archery range I saw looked fun, in the end we didn’t get to shoot a bow and arrow. The war reenactment was fun. It was kind of weird seeing the british fighting style back then. It was charge in and shoot all over the place. All we did was walk up, then fall to the floor. We didn’t get to do much.
I did research on the first continental congress because I wanted to learn about how america was founded.

The how we organize ourselves unit is about the revolutionary war and also history. We learn about america and other countries. We learn about the people that have influenced change around the world and still are. We are learning about how our world came to be the way it is.
Articles of Confederation
The articles of confederation was the first amendment from the united states. But it had a major flaw. The states weren't united, they collected there own taxes had their own money and had their own armies.
The american revolution was caused when the colonists wanted civil rights and freedom from King George III. King George said no so they revolted and the revolutionary war started.
